Sheela-na-Gig Clonmacnoise County Offaly. A little church known as the Nun's Chapel lies outside the main monastic enclosure. It is most well known for its highly decorated Romanesque doorway and amidst this decorative pattern is a rather cheeky looking Sheela-na-gig. Being found mainly on medieval churches Sheela-na-gigs represent a late survival of female spirituality.
Hand Cast in White Bronze.
