A well persevered Bronze Dise inscribed with a Triskel was found on Loughane Island in the Bann River. It is thought to date from the late Iron Age / Early Christian period, the first or second century A.D. The Triskel is the central and most ancient Sacred Symbol of Ireland. Originating from the Triple Spiral of the Neolithic era it is still used widely into modern day.
